You can do a lot more at Thunder Over Louisville than simply look to the sky. There will be plenty of activities on the ground to entertain friends and family members as well. From the Thunder FoodFest to the Interactive Display Area to the Kid's Play Areas on the Great Lawn, there's refreshments and entertainment galore to be found all over the venue. Some attractions require a 2010 Pegasus Pin admission, but some activities are completely free. Most are open from 11 a.m. until the fireworks show at 9:30 p.m.

Some of the activities include:

• Tumbleweed BoomTown: A new venue at Thunder this year at Tumbleweed Southwest Grill on the Waterfront, 1201 River Road. Outside activities include kids play areas, food, beer garden and Thunder sound system and more! FREE ADMISSION to the public. For information go to www.TumbleweedBoomtown.com


• The 2010 Ford Drive One Tour: The Ford Drive One mobile marketing initiative located on the South Great Lawn at Waterfront Park will feature the latest Ford vehicles and technology including the 2010 Fusion Hybrid, the re-designed 2010 Taurus, the 2010 Mustang, and the latest in technology including the new SYNC system. The attraction offers an array of skill competitions, interactive vehicle displays and the opportunity to win exciting prizes, including the choice of a new Ford vehicle of your choice up to $30,000.
  
  


• Kid's Play Areas: The interactive attractions on the South Great Lawn include a Tiger Slide, Dragon's Castle, Moon Bounce, Putt-Putt, Roswell Obstacle, First Down, Fun Slide, Fun House, Rock-O-Plane and Midway Games.


• The Thunder FoodFest will offer a wide variety of tasty treats from more than 115 food vendors from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. at the Chow Wagon, Great Lawn, West Belvedere, and along Witherspoon Street and East River Road. Beer Gardens, with Pegasus Pin admission, will be open at the Chow Wagon and West Belvedere.

• McDonald's Restaurants of Kentuckiana McCafe display - McDonald's Restaurants of Kentuckiana invites you to visit the McCafe Sampling vehicle, located on the south great lawn. Beginning at 2 p.m.,you're invited to try a FREE sample of the new McDonald's Frappe. Friendly staff will be on hand to share more information about all that McDonald's has to offer. • Pegasus Pin trading fans can add to their collections by visiting the following locations on Thunder Day: 3rd and Main streets (NE corner); Bingham Way and Witherspoon; 4th and River Road (West side of median); Preston and Witherspoon (NE corner); and East of 2nd Street on the median between Bingham Way and River Road.
• Official Derby Festival Merchandise, including ThunderWear, will be available at the Waterfront Chow Wagon, West Great Lawn, East Great Lawn (everything $10 and under), Southern Indiana, 3rd Street and River Road and 4th Street and River Road.
