CATCH THUNDER FEVER!

Thunder on the Ground will open at 11 am including a food fest and many new interactive entertainment features.  The Thunder air show takes to the skies at 3 pm and flies until 9:30 p.m.  Then, BOOM!

The show is made possible by E.ON U.S., Horseshoe Casino and Hotel, Meijer and UPS and a growing network of McDonald’s Thunder Funders.  For information on special features, air acts, parking and more, check out the official Thunder website at www.thunderoverlouisville.org.

THUNDER ON THE GROUND

You can do a lot more at Thunder Over Louisville this year than simply look to the sky. There will be plenty of activities on the ground to entertain friends and family members as well. From the Thunder FoodFest to the Interactive Display Area to the Kid’s Play Areas on the Great Lawn, there’s refreshments and entertainment galore to be found all over the venue. Some attractions require a 2010 Pegasus Pin admission, but some activities are completely free. Most are open from 11:00 a.m. until the fireworks show at 9:30 p.m.

Official Thunder and Festival Merchandise will be available at NINE locations at the event from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m.  Look for tents at:  3rd & River Road, 4th & River Road, Thunder Chow Wagon @ Waterfront Park, Great Lawn West Corner, Great Lawn East Corner, River Road at Bingham Way, Witherspoon at Preston, Boomtown at Tumbleweed and Southern Indiana in Ashland Park.

Pegasus Pin trading fans can add to their collections by visiting the following locations on Thunder Day: 3rd and Main streets (NE corner); Witherspoon in front of the Chow Wagon; 4th and River Road (West side of median); Preston and Witherspoon (NE corner); and 3rd and River Road.

Tune in to the official media partners of Thunder for daylong coverage from all angles:

On your way to the event, listen to traffic updates on the Official Thunder Radio Station, Lite 106.9 WVEZ.  Their coverage will begin at NOON with Vicki Rogers, then Don Nordin and Major Todd Lalley will take you through the air show beginning at 3 p.m. and at 7 p.m. Jeff and Kathi will be have reports from the Command Center and take you from the fireworks to the ride home. Take a radio to the event and hear the entire fireworks soundtrack simulcast on Lite 106.9.

You can still have a bird’s eye seat for the show without leaving your living room.  Keep it on WAVE 3 TV for the exclusive broadcast of the Thunder Air Show and Fireworks.  Beginning at 2:30 PM, Dawne Gee, Janelle MacDonald, Scott Reynolds and John Belski will anchor coverage from the Belvedere with field reporting from both sides of the river with Liz Donatelli, Eric Flack, Kevin Harned, Jon Chrisos and Christie Dutton - on the ground, in the sky, and in the Command Center.

WAVE will broadcast from 2:30 PM until 11:30 PM using a total of 18 cameras throughout the day – including a live camera inside the C-130 during the show.
