BOATING ADVISORY FOR THUNDER

The Coast Guard has issued a boating advisory for tomorrow’s Thunder Over Louisville.  Due to high water and severe conditions, including debris and a swift current, the Coast Guard is advising Thunder fans to watch from the shore this year. The Ohio River will be seven feet above normal on show day.

Coast Guard officials say these conditions cause concern for even experienced boaters, creating potential boating hazards such as engines getting knocked offline. Even boats that are in good working order with all necessary equipment may not be able to hold anchor.

A barrier line east of the Big 4 Bridge will be in effect.  The river will be closed off at 2:30 Saturday afternoon and will remain closed until midnight.
