2008-02-06T10:20:35

The Kentucky Derby Festival is pleased to announce the theme of the 2008 Thunder Over Louisville show on April 12: "Out Of This World" -- a tribute to international celebrations and diversity. The Thunder Air Show will include international air acts such as the German Toronado and the fireworks portion will feature shells manufactured in such foreign countries as Spain, Italy and China. The Thunder music soundtrack, which will be aired exclusively on FOX41 WDRB-TV and 103.1 WRKA, will include songs from a wide variety of international genres.

"Every Thunder Over Louisville is 'Out Of This World', but this year's show will be especially so," said Mike Berry, Kentucky Derby Festival President and CEO. "Spectators can look forward to another spectacular Air Show and will be treated some special fireworks effects that are truly unique to Thunder. We're very excited about producing another free show that will appeal to anyone from all over the world."

Thanks to the generous support of the event's corporate sponsors - Caesars Indiana, E.ON U.S., Meijer and UPS - this year's Thunder will once again feature an amazing array of civilian and military aircraft, as well as elite parachutists and demonstration teams.

"Once again, Thunder Over Louisville will feature seven hours of entertainment that can be found nowhere else," said Wayne Hettinger, Thunder Over Louisville producer. "We'll have some special effects that truly will be out of this world."
